The Bonafides

Jazz, Funk, Rhythm and Blues and Soul …. While I was searching for a way to describe our band, I realized the answer was hiding in plain sight in a Jon Cleary lyric. It is both the way he describes “the greatest gift America gave the world,” and the music we play. We started six years ago, building our repertoire from the classic New Orleans R&B of Fats Domino, Professor Longhair, Allen Toussaint and many others. The versatility of the band members then made room for a little Monk, Herbie, Horace Silver and the like. Next thing you know, Steely Dan and Govt. Mule are in the master file.

“No matter what is on the set list, we are sure you will leave a Bonafides show with a smile on your face and a happy tune in your step. Come see us soon!”
