ARTS SALON SERIES
The WEAD Arts Salons are small, friendly get-togethers focused on exploring the work and process of talented local artists. Events are generally hosted by our Board members and friends in their homes or work spaces. Audience sizes are small to encourage conversation and connection, plus drinks and light bites are provided by the WEAD team.
The salons are 'pay what you will' to help us cover the artist fees and materials costs while ensuring that everyone is able to participate. For reference: $15-20 per person will cover our costs, but nothing is required, and larger donations are always appreciated.
These events are a wonderful opportunity to get to know our team, connect with other passionate local arts lovers, and experience an exciting line-up of artistic talent.

Exploring Ceramics with Janet Taylor
Sunday, October 18 • 3-6pm
Meet local artist and Bay Haven Ceramics Studio founder, Janet Taylor. Hear her story, her pathway into ceramics, and the adventures of opening the studio. Then we'll head into the studio to try our hand at creating mini monsters. All skill levels are welcome; no experience required.
Upcycled Costumes with Verasphere
Sunday, November 15 • 3-6pm
Discover the costume magic of Verasphere with artists David Faulk and Michael Johnstone. Hear their story and see their fabulous costumes. With that inspiration, you’ll then have a chance to create something marvelous yourself from upcycled materials.
Mural Arts with Meg Shwarzman
Sunday, January 23 • 3-6pm
Learn about Meg’s process and try your hand at mural techniques. Plus, share your thoughts on a potential mural for the Mastick Center.
Culinary Art with Jean Chen
Sunday, February 27 • 3-6pm
Learn how to turn cookies into works of art with edible paints and markers with artist, writer, and baker Jean Chen.
