WEAD YOUNG ARTIST PROGRAM

The West End Arts District Youth Committee exists to ensure that our programs engage, educate and inspire young artists in Alameda and beyond. We are continually looking to collaborate with students and teachers, and would love to hear from young and aspiring artists.

BAMP Sound Lab Students at Work

WEAD invited students from the  Bay Area Music Project Sound Lab class at Maya Lin to compose a sound score for the Animate Alameda performance at the Waterfront Park Launch Fest. After 'client meetings' with choreographer and festival Artistic Director Tara Pilbrow, the students set to work creating a score inspired by the waterfront park, the water, and the different materials integral to the park landscape. The final result will be the sound score for a dance piece performed by local dance students.

Student Art Displays

We have space available for student art at WABA's 2nd Friday Art Strolls on Webster.  Whether you want to simply display the work in a different context or sell the art to raise money, reach out to connie@westendartsdistrict.org

Volunteer With WEAD

We have a wide range of student volunteer opportunities and can sign off on SSL hours for Middle, High School and College Students. For more info email: info@westendartsdistrict.org.

Building Leaders

We're looking to gather a group of young arts leaders to bring the student voice to the West End Arts District leadership. This program is in development. Check in for more soon.
